Pigtronix Tremvelope

Pigtronix Tremvelope

This tremolo pedal is the most versatile tremolo pedal I know of, period. It’s a stompbox that combines envelope effect with tremolo effect, with a few useful switches to control different aspects of the envelope interaction with the signal. It has two expression pedals input, one that controls speed/rate of the tremolo and another that controls the volume (when it’s running as mono) or the panning (when it’s running as stereo).

The build is sturdy, the finish is a treat to look at. The blue color on it reminds me of those cars from the 50′s, the white is kinda creamy, again just like the same cars. The switches are far from frail, but I wouldn’t get too stompy while switching those switches meant for your feet, one might damage something.

I’ve rediscovered tremolo and can’t get enough of it. The only downside of the pedal is that there is no stereo input. That was a disappointment since I got used with the true-stereo from the MXR M159 Stereo Tremolo, which I used to have in my stereo setup. But the “tremvelope” effect is so lush that right now I’m happy with it as the last pedal before the amp. I’ll eventually try to bring it into the stereo signal path. There is nothing like sitting between two amps while the panning does its thing. Recommended!

The Tremvelope Envelope Modulated Tremolo pedal by Pigtronix offers a myriad of customizable features. At the bottom of the pedal’s faceplate there is both an engage trigger button to activate the effect, as well as an on/off engage switch for the envelope filter itself. This allows for the Tremvelope to be used just as a versatile tremolo pedal. Moving up the pedal there is an acceleration switch to control the response time which is directly tied to the dynamics of the guitar playing. Next to this are switches to control the speed and depth of the pedal’s effect in order to add or subtract from it. There is also a waveform switch to control the type of wave dynamic produced. Lastly, the Pigtronix Tremvelope has the standard Speed and Depth controls, as well as a Sensitivity control for the envelope filter. The Tremvelope also features volume and speed expression pedal inputs, as well as a trigger input that allows for the Tremvelope to become even more versatile in your effects chain. The Tremvelope also includes a Pigtronix 18VDC power supply.
