Illusion v4
Illusion’s 4th version was such a revamp from its 3rd that it took about an year to develop. To mark this change, the whole company profile changed as well, with a sleekier logo, a light background and a lot of focus on user-friendliness.
Through a search functionality to the left of a category page, the user can filter his/her search by selecting and combining multiple parameters as sizes, colors, price range and brands. So if the customer is looking for the color red under the “Nyheter” (new products) page, she will see absolutely all red products of all categories combined – if they are newly added. All the filtering takes place instantly, in an AJAX fashion.
On the product page, the customer has a very good overview of the product: a big product detail image (which can be zoomed by hovering the mouse on it), a video of the model with the product (only in the guest models products), information about the product and thumbnails of the same product in different colors. The product page also features customer comments, customer ratings, what other customers bought and related products. Note that customers will not be able to add the product to the cart without choosing a size.
On the checkout page, one is able to “go through” the whole checkout process with a single click – given that the user has already done the login. If not, a handy login form is there, right above the fields that need to be filled to complete the checkout. If one is not registered yet, never fear, the registration happens simultaneously with the payment.
This web development project is by far the most complex I took part on, and I’m very pleased to see it published. A website on this scale really takes web design to another level, and it’s very rewarding to feel that one can pull it together.
